The Bank of England will slow or even suspend its purchases of government bonds tomorrow because it succeeded in stabilizing the economy, according to Pacific Investment Management Co.
Pimco, manager of the world s biggest bond fund, favors two-year gilts because policy makers won t raise their key interest rate any time soon, Michael Amey, who oversees U.K. fixed income in London, said in an interview. Pimco is avoiding so-called intermediate-maturity bonds as the asset-buying program wanes amid record government debt sales, he said.
