Peter J. Smith & Company Inc. from Buffalo has been hired to complete the Concord Grape Belt Heritage Area Management Plan, with additional interpretive planning to be completed by Heritage Strategies Inc.
Both firms are expected to begin immediately with the goal of completing the plan in no more than 10 months.
The Lake Erie Concord Grape Belt Area was designated as New York State's 19th Heritage Area in 2006 by state legislation after passage of legislation sponsored by state Sen. Catharine Young, R-Olean, and state Assemblyman William Parment, D-North Harmony.
