Typhoon Melor has severely disrupted flights into and out of Japan. The main airports affected are Fukuoka, Nagoya, and Osaka, says Japan Airlines. According to Japanese media reports, carriers have cancelled over 400 flights. JAL alone has cancelled 184 domestic and 16 international flights, affecting nearly 18,000 passengers. 10/8/2009
