US hotels in the south and west have had a dramatic drop in rates according to the latest Hotel Price Index (HPI) data collected by Hotels.com. Of the top 10 US cities, all except for Washington State were found to have some of the greatest price falls in average hotel prices. Down south, six Florida cities, the most in any one state, were among the top ten US cities with the greatest drop in hotel rates, with an average drop of 14 percent. These cities included Orlando, Miami, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers and Naples.
