Saratoga Springs is back in the Class AA semifinals for the first time in nearly two decades after defeating Shaker 2-0 on Wednesday.
Saratoga Springs junior Julia Sirianni scored at the 19:17 mark in the first half to get the Blue Streaks on the board and Megan Nash put the game away with a goal at the 36:33 mark in the second half.
The Blue Streaks beat Shaker, 2-1, in another close regular-season matchup on Oct. 15. Since then, Saratoga had lost two games in a row, one to Burnt Hills and one to Shenendehowa, before getting back on a roll a 6-0 first-round victory over Queensbury.
Saratoga will face Bethlehem in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Friday ...
