The Houston Comets made an outstanding rally against a tough Phoenix Mercury team to repeat as WNBA champions. The Comets took Game 3 in Houston 80-71 to end the series.
The Mercury came out in Game 1 and shocked the defending champions 54-51 to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series.
But the Comets, with backs against the wall, rallied in a tough Game 2 to take it in overtime 74-69.
"Phoenix was the one team that pushed our buttons and took us to the limit and really showed what they're made of," said Cooper, who was named series MVP for the second-straight year. "They exploited our weaknesses. They were definitely a tough opponent."
