TH E s l a g h e a p behind one goal and the crossed pickaxes and colliery wheel on the club crest speak of a time when Paulton Rovers fielded a team of miners plucked from 15 Somerset pits.
The coal mines may be long closed but the Rovers remain very much open for business as they prepare for the biggest day in their 128-year history, a televised first round FA Cup tie against Norwich City tomorrow.
By current non-league standards, Paulton are small and, to those who do not know the greater Bristol area, unknown. 'I am not even sure we were on the map before this,' manager Andy Jones admitted.
