A number of sector education and training authorities (Setas), some of them cash-strapped, blew more than R900 000 on parties to celebrate the release of their annual reports.
Labour Minister Membathisi Mdladlana said in response to a parliamentary question from the DA that nine Setas had spent about R918 000 on functions to celebrate the tabling of their annual reports.
The manufacturing, engineering and related services Seta (Merseta) was the biggest spender, splashing out R242 000 on its function, followed by the Seta for finance, accounting and management (Fasset), which spent R� 000 on a similar function. Of ...
