These days, many universities aren't content to simply teach and publish. Indeed, the universities along the Interstate 76 corridor are among those in Northeast Ohio that list economic development among other more traditional duties. For years, they have been spinning out technologies and helping develop area real estate.
Recently, however, economic development has become an even bigger priority at the University of Akron, Kent State University and the Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy.
