As Amazon Hose & Rubber Co. celebrates its 90th anniversary, the company continues a slow transition from a family shop to being run more like a business.
To that end, the distributor of hose, tubing, fittings and couplings plans to create a new position of chief operating officer and fill it by the end of the year, according to Amazon President Summer Rodman. She's one of a number of family members to lead the firm through its history.
