DuPont Protection Technologies plans to construct a production facility north of Charleston, S.C., principally to handle a new Kevlar product line aimed at the automotive and industrial markets.
The company recently broke ground for the DuPont Co. division's fourth North American plant at its Cooper River complex, tentatively scheduled to be completed in early 2012.
"But we can rev up construction sooner on the facility if the market calls for it, according to Richard Brooks, global automotive marketing manager.
