Freudenberg- NOK G.P. plans to close its Spencer, Iowa, seal and rings production facility by April to help reduce excess manufacturing capacity.
The company, which made the shutdown announcement Oct. 14, will transfer manufacturing equipment from the site to its Troy, Ohio, plant, and distribution operations to its Milan, Ohio, location, said Sarah A. O'Hare, Freudenberg-NOK vice president of human resources and communications. The closing will affect about 60 hourly and salaried workers at the facility, O'Hare said. At least 10 members of the Spencer work force will be offered continuing jobs with the company.
