STATE services are expected to be thrown into chaos today as thousands of public sector workers across the country take to the streets.
As many as 13,000 public servants will take a stand against pay cuts for the Day of Action in eight towns and cities across the State.
Services may be stretched to the limit as thousands of nurses, gardai and part-time teachers are expected to use up holidays or swap shifts to take part in the rallies.
Demonstrations are scheduled for Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford, Sligo, Tullamore and Dundalk from 2.30pm.
