PITTSBURGH-When PNC Financial Services Group here acquired Cleveland's National City Corp. at the end of last year on the mortgage banking side there were two different types of operations. Now they will bring those two operations together under one roof and reinstate a single brand.
In other mergers in the mortgage banking industry, said Sy Naqvi, the chairman and chief executive of what will now be known as PNC Mortgage, there was a considerable amount of overlap and management had to make choices about systems, employees and more.
