MARCUS HORAN is definitely out of the Guinness Series - but believes he is on course for a return to rugby action in the new year.
There were concerns that Horan's career could be at an end after undergoing medical tests over the past eight days but after minor corrective heart surgery he is now on the road to recovery.
However, after the op was described by an IRFU spokesman as a "routine medical procedure", the experienced 32-year-old prop has been prescribed a period of rest over the next few weeks.
