The Delta State government and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation have formed a partnership to develop the gas resources in the state to boost economic growth.
Nigeria has the largest gas reserve in Africa, and is among the world's top producers of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), accounting for 10 percent of the global supply. Most of Nigeria's gas resources are found in onshore fields, distributed in Delta, Bayelsa, and Rivers states in the oil-rich Niger Delta.
