The Dane County Board on Thursday night heard several hours of passionate pleas from both supporters and opponents of a Regional Transit Authority.
Supporters encouraged the board to create the transportation planning body as a way to expand the options available to suburban commuters, students traveling to the airport, bar patrons who tend to drink and drive and others.
"There are simply not enough options for transit," Madison resident Matthew Hill said. "Please create the RTA so we could hear what the transit options could be, and we the people can decide whether to fund them."
