NORFOLK
Perfectly Frank, a hot dog and hamburger joint near Old Dominion University, was packed. Every table and nearly every seat at the counter was taken. Plus three tables outside.
Same for Boar's Nest Bar & Deli down the street.
It was 5 p.m. last Saturday - too early for the usual Saturday dinner crowd. But the perfect time for pre-football festivities.
Since the university kicked off its first football season in nearly 70 years in September, most nearby businesses say they've scored a touchdown in higher sales and increased customer traffic.
