In the spring, his name was leaked from the secret list of steroids users - remember his televised pity parties? - while a book portrayed him as a narcissistic phony and helped make him an even bigger butt of jokes on late-night TV. His health was in question, too. He missed the first month of the season after hip surgery, yet still drove in 100 runs. But it's A-Rod's postseason production this year that has changed perceptions of him forever. You think anybody cares now about his previous chokes and off-field nonsense? Not a chance. He's no longer a punch line.
