Thanks partly to its Mississippi recipes, Britain has become smitten with American-owned Outsider Tart bakery in London.
David Muniz, an entrepreneur who grew up in Hattiesburg, and David Lesniak, an architect from New Jersey, began baking as a hobby when they moved to London in October 2005. They craved the tastes of cakes, cupcakes, and pies from home. And since they couldn't find any, they began making them. "But even we couldn't eat everything we made and it was a very natural, Deep South thing to ask, 'I just made these. Would you like some?'" remembers Muniz.
