A Westwood contractor blamed for long delays on Boston's Cambridge Street sidewalk project faces as much as five years in prison after pleading guilty to tax evasion.
Federal officials announced yesterday that Albert M. Todesca of Todesca Equipment Co. admitted to avoiding $1 million in income and Social Security taxes.
Internal Revenue Service investigators found that Todesca evaded taxes by reporting some $4.2 million of workers' pay as reimbursements for machine parts rather than wages.
Authorities say the scam ran from 2002 to 2006, roughly the same period when Todesca's firm worked on ...
