BALLYMENA reached the quarter finals of the All Ireland Cup for the first time in their history with a hard-fought win over Young Munster at Eaton Park.
Winger Roger McBurney was the hero for the Braidmen, with a try in each half which was enough to set up a home quarter-final meeting with Old Belvedere who defeated Clontarf in their last 16 clash.
Ballymena team manager Sam McGreer was delighted to get through to the next round.
"A win is a win and we were forced to try different things as we had lost a number of players to Ulster A. We were able to rest players like Sam McKinney and Bob Young.
