Over the past several weeks, Albertans have spent so much time arguing about the need, or not, of proposed new transmission lines in the province that you'd think we've all suddenly found the topic of electricity, well, electrifying. Alas, despite the incredible ease of use all Albertans are afforded by our excellent electricity system--literally a flick of a switch or turn of a knob brings us light and powers our appliances--it's ironic that few topics are more complex than this easy-to-use commodity that is a necessity for our very survival and way of life.
