A railway line is being planned between Botswana and Namibia that will be used to transport coal from mines that are envisaged in Namibia and Botswana.

Officials of the Walvis Bay Corridor Group and the ministry of transport told the Economist this week that a pre-feasibility study on the Trans Kalahari Rail is currently being undertaken.
