Before they ever heard of a federal stimulus package or the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, township officials had their $10 million sanitary sewage project ready to go.
Their vision paid off when the government funding came along.
Now the township is able to provide public sewer service to about 200 homes in the villages of Adrian, Cowansville and Tarrtown who rely on aging septic systems.
"This will have a tremendous impact on the local economy," said East Franklin supervisor vice chairman Doug Flanders at the site of a new treatment plant along Reesedale Road during a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday. He and ...
