WASHINGTON _ When it was first pulled from South African waters in 1938, the primitive coelacanth became an instant celebrity. Scientists, after all, thought the fish had been extinct for 80 million years.
Now, the ``living fossil'' has surprised the world yet again.
A biologist strolling through an Indonesian fish market on his honeymoon last year sighted one of the fish for sale _ more than 6,000 miles from the African waters long thought to be its only home.
