GOLFERS are competing in the name of charity at the American Mission Hospital's (AMH) Island Classic Golf Tournament, which opened yesterday.
The annual three-day event is being held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad at his private golf course in Safriya.
This year the tournament has raised BD60,000 in cash and BD70,000 in kind for the hospital.
A total of 224 golfers comprising 56 teams are competing in the championship and premier flights.
The tournament is held in the format of the traditional Texas Scramble with no less than five side contests taking place each day.
