The Norfolk Environmental Commission is celebrating 30 years of work to keep Norfolk beautiful.
From litter clean-up to recycling efforts, wetlands restoration, environmental education and the promotion of "green" living, the commission has been at the forefront of efforts to restore and preserve the city's natural resources.
A 30th Anniversary Gala will be 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Rose Garden Hall, Norfolk Botanical Garden, 6700 Azalea Garden Road. The benefit includes dinner and a one-year membership to Friends of Norfolk's Environment. Tickets, $60 per person, can be purchased by calling 441-1347 ...
