NORFOLK | Jay Harris took a few days off from his ESPN anchorman duties to check out his alma mater. Asked what he would tell his co-workers about Old Dominion football when he returns to Bristol, Conn., Harris couldn't help but bubble.
"I'll tell them, 'You guys have to see this team, this stadium and the spirit surrounding the program,'" Harris said as he watched from ODU president John Broderick's suite. "You would have to be in my heart to get the true measure of my feelings. Words cannot describe what I'm feeling."
Harris was asked prior to the season how he thought the Monarchs would fare. He predicted a 6-5 record.
