THE NIGHTMARE is over for Mteto Nyati, the Microsoft South Africa managing director, who had sleepless nights trying to figure out the company's much-criticised Windows Vista computer operating system.

Nyati said he wondered whether he had made the correct decision last year after leaving IBM (after 12 years) and joining Microsoft, because Vista had given him a huge headache. Microsoft last month launched Vista's replacement, the Windows 7 operating system which is aimed at making the lives of computers users - from children to business - easier and cooler.
