Late yesterday afternoon the family of freed mercenary George Alerson were still anxiously awaiting his return to their modest house in Treasure Beach, Durban.
Despite their obvious excitement at the prospect of being reunited with their father, the Alerson children remained tight-lipped.
Speaking over the garden fence of the house, Alerson's son Cameron, 25, said the family did not know exactly where Alerson was or when he would be home.
