One of the oldest wholistic medical systems in the world is Ayurveda, which arose in India about 3000 years ago. Unlike Western medicine, which focuses on dispelling illness, Ayurveda aims to foster vigor and health. It emphasizes integration and balance of body, mind, and spirit through lifestyle measures, diet, herbs, and minerals.
