Nov 09, 2009 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A large share of the Australian financial services sector is now owned by the four main banks. The mergers and acquisitions activity in the industry is set to continue, such as with the planned takeover of Axa Asia-Pacific by AMP, as fees trend lower and regulation becomes more stringent for investment advisers. The combined AMP/Axa entity would cover some 10,000 financial planners.
