UGO Entertainment, a men's lifestyle brands on the Web, has named Christopher Johnson to the new post of senior vice president of programming and product strategy, and Julie Shumaker general manager of 1UP, which UGO acquired in January.
"Chris and Julie have a long track record of success in building and expanding digital businesses," said Ken Bronfin, interim CEO of UGO and president of Hearst Interactive Media, which acquired UGO in 2007. "We see this as part of our ongoing commitment to the development of quality content on our Web sites. I am confident that Julie and Chris will both be invaluable assets to Hearst as we expand our digital media brands."
