TERRY BUTCHER was quick to defend Scotland manager George Burley yesterday after Rangers striker Kenny Miller claimed the past qualification campaign had been doomed by a fixtures "shambles".
The Scotland assistant manager stressed Burley had played no part in scheduling the group games in pursuit of a place at the South Africa 2010World Cup finals.
Butcher said: "George had nothing to do with that - it was all done beforehand.
