The African Development Bank (AfDB) is set to disbur se credits, worth US$ 3.5 billion, for a series of socio-economic projects in th e Great Lakes Region, the head of the continental financial institution, Donald K a beruka, said Friday in Bujumbura, the Burundi capital.
Kaberuka, speaking at the end of a two-day round table debate of the Internation al Conference on the Great Lakes Region, said the funds would be particularly u s ed for the building of a bridge between Brazzaville and Kinshasa, the two respec t ive capitals of the neighboring Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
