Orlando-based McCree Architects and Engineers Inc. held a luncheon Friday for city officials and contract workers to show the progress on the project. Everyone who attended the event was able to sign the last piece of plywood that will go on the tower of the fire house.

"I'm amazed on how fast it's going up," Mayor Jeff Potter said.

Construction should be completed in April, said Steve Sawyer, senior project manager for McCree, the architect for the complex.
