The New York City-based architect and developer who is getting ready to unveil 18 new market-rate apartments on the top three floors at 70 Bank St. said Thursday he has acquired the historic Apothecary Building across the street and hopes to complete a similar project there.
Parag Mehta, who bought the 110-year-old former commercial building at 70 Bank St. in November 2007 for $350,000, said he acquired the seven-story, triangular-shaped Apothecary Building at 63 Bank St. for $425,000 in late September. The 13,000-square-foot building houses a Dunkin' Donuts shop on the ground floor and is topped by six floors of empty office space.
