Ahlstrom Corp says it will increase its focus in Asia and on added-value products following the completion of a strategy review process initiated in April this year.
Based in Helsinki, Finland, the company is a supplier of nonwovens and speciality papers. Its review also concludes that the company needs to manage its balance sheet and reduce its gearing ratio.
In accordance with the revised strategy, Ahlstrom's operations will now be based on two distinct business models: the first is to provide customers with added-value products and the second to ensure operational excellence.
