A discus-shaped, translucent roof with a diameter of 217 m has been fitted to the BayArena, Leverkusen, Germany. The roof is made of PC Makrolon sheeting. To ensure durability, the steel support structure, weighing around 3000 t, has been provided with an anti-corrosion coating based on polyaspartic raw materials. Both of the products are manufactured by Bayer MaterialScience, headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
