Shin-Etsu Chemical Co Ltd of Japan has developed two series' of silicone products for use with high-brightness light-emmitting diodes (LEDs).
The new SWC Series is a range of advanced silicone reflectors designed to greatly improve the brightness performance of LEDs. The new LPS-AF Series are protective film materials that are transparent and possess high heat resistance.
These materials will be used to enhance the performance of high-brightness LEDs that are used for lighting products and for backlighting units in liquid crystal display televisions (LCD TVs). Shin-Etsu has begun sample shipments primarily for these applications.
