SCHENECTADY -- Over the course of her lengthy and very rich musical career, Maria Muldaur has had only one bona fide Top 10 hit song.
And that was 35 years ago.
But on Friday night at the Van Dyck, Muldaur declined to sing "Midnight at the Oasis," explaining that she just couldn't "jugify" it enough to fit in with the rest of the show, so she retired it for this tour.
There was a momentary moan of disappointment from the sold-out crowd, but at the end of the night, nobody in the audience seemed to feel that they'd been cheated.
