Thursday At home in Suffolk, recovering from flu-like symptoms that my colleagues suggest would be best kept at home for a couple of days. Feeling better today - blue sky rather than continuous rain may be playing its part - and I am certainly more conscious and inquisitive about what is going on in the world. Not much that is positive for the domestic UK economy. The strike by postal workers begins today, the Land Registry is to announce 1,500 job cuts, and mass immunisation against swine flu begins with healthcare workers. So why is sterling up?
