Financing Alternatives Inc., accused more than two years ago of bilking hundreds of consumers who paid for computers they never received, filed for bankruptcy Monday - creating another roadblock in the state's case against the company.
George Christian, the Chesapeake company's founder, submitted the paperwork to liquidate FAI in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Norfolk. Christian also filed for personal bankruptcy Oct. 30, six days before the scheduled start of the trial in the state's case.
