SYDNEY, Nov 11 Asia Pulse - Singapore Telecommunication Ltd (SGX:Z74) has posted 8.9 per cent growth in its first half net profit led by strong revenue growth in its Australian Optus business.
SingTel's net profit for the six months to September 30 was S$1.9 billion (US$1.37 billion), up from S$1.75 billion in the previous corresponding period.
Second quarter net profit was S$956 million, up 10.1 per cent on the corresponding period last year.
At Optus, net profit for the first half was A$291 million (US$270.78 million), up 18 per cent on A$247 million in the previous corresponding period.
