The passage of Issue 6, a measure to transform Cuyahoga County government that had overwhelming support from the business community, and to a lesser extent the approval of the casino gambling issue have set a new stage for the region's public-private partnership.
Voters last week handed Cleveland's business interests two big wins. In particular, Issue 6 which will create an elected county executive and an 11-member elected county council reflects both the business community's muscle at the ballot box and a willingness to step up its involvement in shaping how the county is governed.
