A new flu strain has helped boost business at Guardian Technologies, a Mentor company that sells health-related appliances under the name Germ Guardian.
Since the company started in 2005, it has been building brand awareness, said managing partner Rick Farone, and it now sells more than two dozen products that target contagions in the home.
The company has grown to almost $20 million in revenues from its sales of air sanitizers, purifiers, humidifiers and vacuum cleaners, Mr. Farone said.
