Microsoft buys SourceGear

SEATTLE u Microsoft Corp. said it will buy assets of SourceGear LLC, an Illinois-based maker of programming tools for software development, to add functions to its Visual Studio applications. Terms werenAEt disclosed in a statement Monday. Microsoft, the worldAEs largest software maker, will acquire Teamprise, a SourceGear unit that has focused on creating products for MicrosoftAEs Visual Studio Team Foundation Server. The Teamprise technology enables software development on multiple operating systems, including Unix, Linux and Mac OS X, Microsoft said.
