The Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority, also known as Adwea, will seek long-term financing to build a power plant with a minimum capacity of 1,500 megawatts, the director of privatisation said.
Definitely there will be a new plant, Abdulla Saif Al Nuaimi told reporters in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. We are looking at several different locations in the United Arab Emirates.
Gulf states, where summer temperatures can reach 50 degrees Celsius (122 Fahrenheit), are boosting power output to support industrial expansion and growing populations. Power demand in Abu Dhabi, jumped 11 per cent in 2009 from a year earlier, Al Nuaimi said. ...
