TWO statements were made last week at the South African launch of Merc's latest E63 AMG that prickled my attention.

It was said that this AMG is the best E-Class AMG ever, and that it featured the most powerful naturally-aspirated engine in the world.

Talk about an intro.

In reality it's the same 6 208cc (badged as a 6.3-litre) V8 from the previous E63 AMG, but tweaked with eight more kilowatts bringing outputs to 386kW and 630Nm (torque stays the same) - matching the SL63 AMG's outputs.
